You are present, open, and spontaneous, able to go with any twist or turn of life.
Your mind is fresh and supremely creative because it is not limited by preconceptions.
You are not worried, anxious or afraid since you hold no beliefs that there are situations you won't be able to handle, and your EXPERIENCE is that you have always been equal to life.
You are at ease and comfortable because that is the natural state of your body, emotions, and mind, and you have no reason to be otherwise."
Zen teacher Cheri Huber
There seem to be 2 types of behaviour when you boil it down to its most base level. The victim and the victor.
The victor welcomes all that life is without judgement or fear or question, accepting the situation, whatever it may be. accepting the feelings, emotions and physical state. Understanding that life IS learning regardless of the situation.
The victim on the other hand lives in fear, ruled by the ego, which is continually comparing, judging, criticising, holding back and bringing down.
Society as a whole is based on cultivating the victim culture. without the victim lots of large corporations would go out of business. Just think about how much, every day, everywhere you go you are being asked to compare, judge and criticise yourself. it is the basic ingredient of advertising. If you know you are already 'good enough then the reality and pressures imposed by 'society' can be seen for what they are and laughable really.
Fortunately the world is full of souls who strive to not be victims, and in this common modality there is much learning and teaching and joy and happiness.
Assigning blame and making excuses keeps us victimized. We don’t have to do anything different because it’s not about us; it’s about someone or something else. We’re simply the recipient.
We may in fact be the recipient of external forces outside our control, but we have the control over our reactions and responses in what we do and how we handle it.
but beginning to look at ourselves and our responses might shake us up a bit. It means we might have to make a move, do something different, or try something new. That can be scary
Dont run from your reality, Embrace it.
Consider how you flee from your present moment
When you are stuck in your head instead of being in the present moment, your whole life becomes a long stream of obsessive thoughts about “your problems.” You focus on what you don’t like about a situation, what you don’t like about your reactions to that situation—and here is the important part—to the exclusion of everything else.
See the present moment for what it really is: some thing you don’t like, but mostly lots of good things to be grateful about.
